Security Engineer (Coding Agent) | $85/hr | Worldwide Remote

Mercor is partnering with a leading AI research lab on a Frontier Code Agents project. As a contributor, you'll evaluate and improve cutting-edge AI coding models through structured security engineering assessments. This is a sprint-based, flexible engagement — spots are limited and filling fast.

What You'll Do

• Use frontier AI coding agents to complete and evaluate complex security engineering tasks.
• Review model-generated code and architectures for vulnerabilities, security risks, and implementation flaws.
• Identify bugs, edge cases, and security-related failure modes in AI outputs.
• Compare outputs across multiple frontier models and assess their relative strengths and weaknesses.
• Apply professional engineering judgment to realistic, production-grade security scenarios.

Compensation & Time Commitment

• $400 per accepted task — typical tasks take approximately 2–3 hours after initial ramp-up.
• Sprint-based project running in 12–24 hour stretches based on client requirements.
• Compensation is tied to accepted, quality work.

Who Should Apply

• 2+ years of professional security engineering experience.
• Background in application security, cloud security, infrastructure security, vulnerability management, or security tooling.
• Regular hands-on use of AI coding agents such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Windsurf, Gemini CLI, or similar tools.
• Demonstrated ability to identify flaws in model-generated code and system architectures.
• Experience securing production systems is strongly preferred.
