Mercor is hiring senior accounting and audit professionals to design evaluation tasks for AI systems operating in Fortune 500 financial environments. This is a high-impact, flexible role where your deep technical expertise directly shapes the quality of enterprise-grade AI tools.

Role Overview

Contributors build realistic enterprise accounting scenarios, produce reference-quality work product, and author rubrics that reflect senior controllership and audit judgment — calibrated to the reporting obligations, control environments, and transaction complexity of large public companies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design F500 corporate accounting and controllership scenarios, including multi-entity and multi-currency consolidations under ASC 810.
• Build SEC reporting tasks (10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, proxy) for $10B+ public companies.
• Develop SOX programs at scale, including environments with 300+ key controls and integrated audits.
• Author technical accounting tasks under ASC 606, 842, 805, and 740 at multi-billion revenue scale, plus IFRS-to-US-GAAP conversions for multinational organizations.
• Work with enterprise ERPs (SAP S/4HANA, Oracle Cloud ERP) and write rubrics that distinguish senior technical reasoning from textbook recall.

Ideal Qualifications

• 5+ years in corporate accounting, controllership, or technical accounting at a Fortune 500 or large public company, OR at a Big 4 firm auditing F500/Fortune 100 clients (PCAOB engagements).
• Direct experience with SEC reporting, SOX programs, and enterprise close cycles at material scale.
• Fluency in enterprise ERP environments and technical accounting standards applied at F500 revenue scale.
• Prior rubric, training-content, or technical accounting authorship is a plus.

Compensation & Commitment

• Hourly Rate: $70–$95/hr, set by Mercor based on demonstrated expertise.
• Minimum Commitment: 20 hours per week.
• Paid onboarding via the Mercor Rubric Academy, which calibrates contributors to the quality bar before live work begins.
• Strong contributors advance into reviewer, lead, and domain SME roles with elevated compensation rates.
