Senior Backend Engineer (Python, SQL & AI Integration) | Full Time | Gurgaon / Hyderabad, India | Hybrid / Onsite

Turing is seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer with 6–10 years of Python and SQL expertise to architect and maintain scalable server-side systems, databases, and microservices — with hands-on integration of modern Generative AI capabilities.

Role Overview

This is a core backend engineering role where you will design robust systems and also integrate LLM APIs into production workflows. You'll work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring high performance, reliability, and clean architecture across all backend services.

Key Responsibilities

• Backend Systems Development: Design, build, and optimize scalable microservices and RESTful APIs using Python (FastAPI, Flask, or Django).
• Database & SQL Management: Author, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, schemas, and data pipelines (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar).
• Deep System Debugging: Diagnose and resolve memory leaks, performance bottlenecks, and async queue issues in production environments.
• AI & API Integration: Integrate LLM provider APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or cloud-native models) into backend workflows with structured prompt engineering and response parsing.
• Cloud Deployment: Deploy and maintain backend services on GCP (Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Compute Engine) or equivalent AWS/Azure services.

Required Skills

• 6–10 years of hands-on backend development with a strong focus on Python.
• Strong proficiency in relational databases and high-performance SQL query writing.
• Proven debugging skills — log analysis, latency optimization, and memory profiling.
• Practical experience calling LLM APIs, handling JSON/structured outputs, and building prompt workflows.
• Solid understanding of OOP/Functional programming, microservices, Docker, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.

Nice-to-Have

• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.
• Familiarity with async Python frameworks (asyncio, Celery) and caching layers (Redis).
