Senior DoD Staff Writing SME | $40–80/hr | Worldwide Remote

We are seeking an experienced Senior Department of Defense Staff Writing Subject Matter Expert to support federal documentation, report generation, and compliance writing initiatives. This is a fully remote contractor role ideal for a seasoned professional with deep knowledge of military writing standards and DoD procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce and evaluate high-quality written reports in accordance with federal documentation standards
• Develop and refine grading rubrics to assess written deliverables
• Ensure all documentation aligns with Department of Defense procedures and compliance best practices
• Collaborate effectively with distributed remote teams to meet project milestones
• Provide expert guidance on military writing conventions and style

Required Skills

• Military Writing: Proficiency in DoD and federal writing standards
• Federal Documentation: Experience producing compliant government documents
• Report Generation & Evaluation: Ability to create and assess detailed reports
• Grading Rubric Development: Skilled in designing evaluation frameworks
• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Remote Collaboration: Comfortable working asynchronously across teams
