Turing is seeking a seasoned Senior Technical Writing & Editing Expert to contribute to a cutting-edge frontier AI data initiative. In this role, you will design, evaluate, and refine high-difficulty tasks that improve the reliability and usefulness of AI agents in complex digital-corporate environments. Role Overview
Experts will leverage deep content governance knowledge to build gold-standard tasks that test editorial standards, technical documentation architecture, style guide enforcement, and the clear communication of highly complex concepts across platforms such as developer portals, documentation systems, Slack, email, and repository readmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Author high-difficulty expert tasks and gold-standard solutions covering complex technical documentation, style guide enforcement, content strategy, and structural editing.
- Review, calibrate, and critique team output to enforce rigorous editorial and technical quality standards.
- Define task context, reference materials, expected deliverables, and evaluation rubrics that distinguish exceptional, acceptable, and deficient work.
- Verify task feasibility, technical accuracy, and practical realism using provided tools and simulated documentation environments.
- Identify and escalate edge cases or rubric ambiguities to the Functional SME Lead.
- Participate in calibration and revision cycles to continuously elevate task complexity and editorial precision.
Requirements
- 8–15 years of hands-on experience in Technical Writing, Editorial Strategy, Content Architecture, or Documentation Engineering.
- Demonstrated experience owning or maintaining enterprise style guides (e.g., Microsoft Manual of Style, Google Developer Documentation Style Guide, Chicago Manual of Style).
- Deep expertise in editorial standards, single-sourcing, and documentation systems such as Markdown, Docs-as-Code, DITA, Notion, and Confluence.
- Proven track record producing executive-grade documentation including API specs, architecture overviews, developer guides, and content migration plans.
- Advanced ability to evaluate technical content for accuracy, voice, tone, structure, terminology consistency, and accessibility.
- Experience authoring high-difficulty prompts and evaluation rubrics for AI models is strongly preferred.
Education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in any field.
- Experience in AI evaluation, data annotation, or content quality assurance is preferred but not required.
Engagement Details
- Type: Contractor
- Duration: 9 weeks
- Commitment: Minimum 4 hours/day, up to 40 hours/week, with 4 hours of overlap with PST
