MICRO1 is seeking a highly skilled Senior FreeCAD Mechanical Engineer to join a dynamic team as a specialist contractor. This role is ideal for an experienced mechanical engineer with deep expertise in parametric CAD modeling, automation, and design for manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain complex parametric models and assemblies using FreeCAD
• Write and maintain Python scripts to automate CAD workflows and design processes
• Create detailed technical drawings with proper GD&T annotations
• Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to optimize designs for production
• Conduct thorough engineering QA reviews to ensure design accuracy and quality
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver precise, manufacturable designs on schedule

Required Skills

• FreeCAD — advanced proficiency in parametric and assembly design
• Python Scripting — experience with CAD automation and tooling
• Mechanical Engineering — strong foundational knowledge
• GD&T — ability to read and apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
• Design for Manufacturing (DFM) — practical experience optimizing designs for production
• Technical Drawings — proficiency in creating clear, standards-compliant documentation

Compensation
