Senior Full Stack Software Engineer | $85–115/hr | Redmond, WA (Onsite)

A prestigious tech company's AR/VR division is looking for a skilled contract Software Engineer (Level IV) to maintain and expand the software and systems powering their data collection lab in Redmond, WA. You'll work with cutting-edge prototype devices, collaborate with a multidisciplinary international team, and help ensure data collection processes are efficient, accurate, and reliable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop software to interface with cutting-edge prototype hardware devices.
  • Improve the efficiency, reliability, and accuracy of data collection pipelines.
  • Work with recording equipment across audio and other modalities.
  • Deploy, test, and evaluate upgrades to the data collection platform.
  • Build and maintain system health monitoring tools.
  • Enhance tooling for data validation and processing workflows.
  • Work onsite to debug issues and conduct root cause analyses.
  • Collaborate with engineers to triage, estimate, and resolve technical issues.
  • Champion engineering best practices across a diverse team of engineers and researchers.

Required Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 6+ years of professional programming experience.
  • Proven full stack software development background.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, particularly within large-scale projects.
  • Solid experience with Linux and shell scripting.
  • Experience maintaining and improving network infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with cross-platform distributed (RESTful) systems.
  • CI/CD experience using GitHub or GitLab.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with hardware multimedia sensors.
  • Working knowledge of audio, image, and video formats.
  • Experience with relational and graph/NoSQL databases.
  • Familiarity with software and hardware testing frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of React or similar JavaScript frontend frameworks.
  • Understanding of time-synchronization techniques.
  • Systems administration experience on Windows.
  • Experience with containerization and container orchestration.

This is a structured, role-based contract position administered through Cincinnatus, an enterprise staffing company. Employment is provided on a W-2 basis, including payroll, benefits, and compliance support, while you integrate directly with the client's internal team.
