Senior JavaScript/React Engineer – AI Training | Contractor | Remote (US Only)

Join Turing, the world's leading AI research accelerator, as a Senior JavaScript/React Engineer contributing to the development of cutting-edge AI training datasets. This flexible contractor role is ideal for experienced engineers who want to shape the future of large language models while working remotely from anywhere in the United States.

About Turing

Headquartered in San Francisco, California, Turing partners with frontier AI labs and global enterprises to accelerate AI research and deploy advanced AI systems. We specialize in high-quality data, advanced training pipelines, and top-tier AI expertise across software engineering, logical reasoning, STEM, multilinguality, and more.

Role Overview

As a Software Engineering Evaluator, you will curate and evaluate code examples, build precise solutions, and refine AI-generated code to train and benchmark large language models. Your primary focus will be on Python, with significant work in JavaScript (including ReactJS), C/C++, Java, Rust, and Go.

What You'll Do

  • Curate code examples, build solutions, and correct code to support AI model training initiatives.
  • Evaluate and refine AI-generated code for efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve AI-driven coding solutions against industry benchmarks.
  • Build agents and automated verification tools in Python to assess code quality and identify error patterns.
  • Analyze and hypothesize on software engineering lifecycle stages — from prototyping and architecture design to production, monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Design verification mechanisms to automatically validate solutions to software engineering tasks.

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Strong expertise in Python, including frameworks, tooling, and production-grade best practices.
  • Hands-on experience building full-stack applications and deploying scalable software.
  • Deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns, debugging, and code quality review.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for structured evaluation rationales.

Ideal Background

We welcome engineers with experience at high-scale organizations such as Google, Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, or Meta, as well as graduates from top CS programs (Stanford, MIT, CMU, UC Berkeley, Georgia Tech, etc.). Exceptional skill and experience always take precedence over pedigree.

Engagement Details

  • Type: Contractor (no medical/paid leave benefits)
  • Commitment: Flexible — minimum 10 hrs/week, up to 40 hrs/week
  • Duration: 1 month, with potential extensions based on performance
  • Location: Must be based in the United States

Application Process

The application takes approximately 15–30 minutes and includes an AI video interview. Apply today to contribute to the next generation of AI systems.
