Senior JavaScript/React Engineer – AI Training | Contractor | Remote (US Only)

Join Turing, the world's leading AI research accelerator, as a Software Engineering Evaluator focused on training and benchmarking frontier large language models. This flexible contractor role is ideal for experienced engineers who want to shape the future of AI-driven software development.

About Turing

Headquartered in San Francisco, CA, Turing partners with leading AI labs and global enterprises to accelerate frontier AI research and deploy reliable, high-impact AI systems. Our team specializes in software engineering, logical reasoning, STEM, multilinguality, multimodality, and autonomous agents.

Role Overview

As a Software Engineering Evaluator, you will curate high-quality code datasets, evaluate AI-generated code, and collaborate with researchers to improve the capabilities of large language models. You'll work across multiple languages — including JavaScript (ReactJS), Python, C/C++, Rust, Go, and Java — with a strong emphasis on systems-level code, performance-critical applications, and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Curate code examples, build solutions, and correct code across Python, C/C++, Rust, Go, Java, and JavaScript/ReactJS for AI model training initiatives.
  • Evaluate and refine AI-generated code for systems-level correctness, performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to benchmark and enhance AI-driven coding solutions.
  • Build agents to verify the quality of systems-level and infrastructure code and identify error patterns.
  • Analyze and evaluate model capabilities across the full software engineering lifecycle — from prototyping and architecture design to production, monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Design automated verification mechanisms for software engineering task solutions.

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Strong expertise in systems programming, infrastructure, or backend development (Python, C/C++, Rust, Go).
  • Proven experience building and deploying scalable, production-grade software.
  • Deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns, debugging, and code quality assessment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for structured evaluation rationales.

Engagement Details

  • Type: Contractor (no medical/paid leave benefits)
  • Commitment: Flexible — minimum 10 hrs/week, up to 40 hrs/week
  • Duration: 1 month, with potential extensions based on performance
  • Location: Must be based in the United States

Application Process

The application takes approximately 15–30 minutes and includes an AI video interview. We welcome candidates from top engineering backgrounds, though exceptional skill and experience always take precedence over pedigree.
