Senior Physician & Surgeon Expert | Contractor | Remote (LATAM, US, Europe)
Turing is seeking experienced Senior Physicians and Surgeons to help shape the future of AI by generating, evaluating, and refining high-difficulty medical tasks for frontier AI model training. This is a 9-week contractor engagement requiring at least 4 hours per day with overlap during PST hours.

Role Overview
As a Senior Physician & Surgeon Expert, you will work within a specialized pod to create high-quality training and evaluation data for AI models. Your clinical expertise will directly influence how AI systems reason through complex medical scenarios, diagnostics, and treatment planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce expert-level tasks and gold-standard solutions in clinical assessment, diagnostic reasoning, and care coordination.
- Author realistic clinical scenarios involving triage decisions, care planning, patient education, and interdisciplinary handoffs.
- Apply rubric standards and grading frameworks established by the Functional SME Lead.
- Incorporate calibration feedback and iterate on task designs under senior review.
- Verify that all clinical scenarios, patient charts, and medical interventions are accurate and compliant with current clinical guidelines.
- Maintain consistent alignment with project quality benchmarks and milestone deadlines.
Requirements
- Experience: 8–15 years of post-residency clinical practice in inpatient, outpatient, or surgical settings; must have practiced within the last 3 years.
- Credentials: MD, DO, or regionally equivalent medical qualification with active or recent specialty board certification.
- Core Competencies: Complex diagnostic reasoning, differential diagnosis, evidence-based treatment planning, medical guideline interpretation, and patient safety management.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to synthesize patient histories, lab results, imaging reports, and clinical symptoms to evaluate competing diagnostic and treatment pathways.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach ensuring technical precision, clinical accuracy, and adherence to established medical standards.
- Communication: Superior written skills for crafting nuanced clinical scenarios, evaluation rubrics, and professional medical assessments.
- Leadership: Ability to operate independently, calibrate peer outputs, and maintain quality in a fast-paced environment.
Education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience required.
- Prior experience in AI evaluation, data annotation, or quality assurance is a plus but not required.
Engagement Details
- Type: Contractor
- Duration: 9 weeks
- Hours: Minimum 4 hours/day, up to 40 hours/week, with 4 hours of PST overlap required.
