Senior Software Engineer (L5+) | $300/hr | Worldwide Remote

Join Mercor in partnership with a leading AI research group as a Senior Software Engineer (L5+). This is a part-time, mid-term contract focused on building and scaling advanced systems using Python, APIs, and reinforcement learning (RL) environments. You will play a key role in designing projects end-to-end, guiding technical direction, and ensuring successful execution.

• Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement solutions using Python, APIs, and RL environments
  • Lead and mentor a small technical team on project deliverables
  • Translate client needs into actionable project plans and architectures
  • Integrate advanced systems leveraging Model Context Protocol (MCP)
• Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Proven technical leadership on multi-month projects
  • Expertise in API design and integration; strong Python skills preferred
  • Excellent communication and client presentation abilities
  • Bonus: Familiarity with RL environments, MCP, and modern AI tools
• Opportunity Details:
