Software Engineer - BYOD at Mercor

Software Engineer – BYOD | $150–$200/hr | Worldwide Remote

Mercor is seeking experienced Software Engineers who retain legal ownership of their SWE-related work documents. This is a flexible contractor opportunity ideal for engineers with hands-on experience in LLM evaluation and AI-assisted task design.

What You'll Do

• Work on Rubric-style evaluation tasks within the Mercor platform
• Design and refine LLM prompts to guide model behavior effectively
• Evaluate and assess model outputs for quality, accuracy, and alignment
• Apply your software engineering expertise to contribute to AI training workflows

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a Software Engineer with ownership of relevant work documents
• Prior experience working with Mercor on Rubric-style tasks is strongly preferred
• Confidence in crafting effective LLM prompts and critically evaluating AI-generated outputs
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a remote environment

This is a BYOD (Bring Your Own Documents) role — candidates must have legal ownership over their SWE-related work materials used in task completion.
