Software Engineer II – Database Systems | $65–$90/hr | Bellevue, WA (On-Site)

Join a high-impact engineering team as a Software Engineer II specializing in database systems. In this role, you'll apply core principles of computer science and mathematical analysis to design, develop, test, and evaluate software systems that power enterprise-level applications. This is a structured, full-time W-2 position placed through Cincinnatus within a leading technology client team.

Key Responsibilities

• Modify and maintain existing databases and database management systems to ensure performance and reliability.
• Write and code logical and physical database descriptions; specify identifiers of database structures to management systems.
• Collaborate as part of a cross-functional project team to coordinate database development, define project scope, and identify limitations.
• Review project requests outlining database user needs and provide accurate estimates of time and cost to complete deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (required).
• Strong verbal and written communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Foundational knowledge of the full software development lifecycle — from requirements gathering and functional specification through development, testing, and delivery.
• Ability to troubleshoot system issues and implement effective resolutions.
• Working knowledge of computer hardware and software fundamentals.
• Proficiency with development tools relevant to database systems, including SQL, Visual Basic, or similar technologies.
