Software Engineer III, AI Interview Tools | $80–110/hr | Remote (US)

A prestigious tech company is looking for a talented Software Engineer III to join their Interview Experience team within Recruiting Products. In this fully remote role (ET or PT hours), you'll help build and scale AI-powered hiring infrastructure that supports hundreds of thousands of interviews each year — directly shaping how the company discovers and hires top talent globally.

What You'll Do

  • Design and develop AI-powered interviewing tools and automation systems that optimize the company's hiring infrastructure
  • Build intuitive frontend experiences using React for recruiters, interviewers, and candidates
  • Develop and maintain backend services supporting interview scheduling, AI transcription/summarization, and automation workflows
  • Collaborate with AI/ML teams to integrate GPT-4o and other language models for interview feedback automation and quality improvements
  • Partner with Product Managers, Designers, and Data Scientists to deliver end-to-end product experiences
  • Leverage AI-powered development tools including Cursor, Claude Code, and Devmate to accelerate velocity
  • Contribute to expanding interview transcription capabilities and implementing AI quality checker systems
  • Support autonomous scheduling improvements and candidate-driven experiences that reduce manual coordinator interventions
  • Write clean, maintainable code, participate in code reviews, and uphold engineering best practices

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 4+ years of software engineering experience with object-oriented languages such as Java, C++, or C#
  • Experience with scripting languages including Python, PHP, or JavaScript
  • Proficiency with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Vue, or similar
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on complex technical challenges
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional, fast-paced environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AI-powered development tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Devmate, or similar)
  • Familiarity with GraphQL and modern API design patterns
  • Experience with the React ecosystem including Relay for data fetching
  • Knowledge of AI/ML technologies and experience integrating LLMs into production applications
  • Background in recruiting technology, HR systems, or enterprise productivity tools
  • Experience with interview scheduling systems, automation platforms, or workflow management tools
  • Knowledge of privacy-aware development practices for recruiting systems
  • Demonstrated track record of shipping products through the full development lifecycle

Applicants must be located in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role. Employment is administered by Cincinnatus as employer of record on a W-2 basis.
