Software Engineer – Python & Docker | $100/Task | Remote (India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Egypt, Ghana, Bangladesh, Turkey, Mexico)

Turing is seeking experienced software engineers at the tech lead level to help build LLM evaluation and training datasets. You'll work on verifiable software engineering tasks derived from real public GitHub repositories, contributing to the future of AI-assisted software development.

About the Project

We are building LLM evaluation and training datasets to train large language models on realistic software engineering problems. Using a synthetic approach with human-in-the-loop, we create verifiable SWE tasks from public repository histories — expanding dataset coverage across programming languages, difficulty levels, and task types.

What You'll Do

• Analyze and triage GitHub issues across trending open-source libraries.
• Set up and configure code repositories, including Dockerization and environment automation.
• Evaluate unit test coverage and quality.
• Modify and run codebases locally to assess LLM performance in bug-fixing scenarios.
• Collaborate with researchers to identify repositories and issues that challenge LLMs.
• Opportunity to lead junior engineers on collaborative projects.

Required Skills

• 3+ years of overall software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Solid experience with Git, Docker, and software pipeline setup.
• Ability to navigate and understand complex codebases.
• Comfortable running, modifying, and testing real-world projects locally.

Nice to Have

• Prior experience in LLM research or evaluation projects.
• Experience building or testing developer tools or automation agents.
• History of contributing to or evaluating open-source projects.

Contract Details

• Type: Contractor assignment (no medical/paid leave)
• Duration: 3 months (expected start: next week)
• Pay: $100 per task
