Software Engineer – Python/JS at Turing

Software Engineer (Python/Go) | Contractor | 40 hrs/week | Remote (PST Overlap)

Join a leading Frontier LLM Lab through Turing and help accelerate the Agentic Data Cloud roadmap. You'll build and scale tools for next-generation AI-powered data systems, develop MCP tools, improve AI-assisted developer workflows, and expand platform capabilities across the Data Cloud ecosystem. This is a 6-month contract engagement starting the first week of June 2026.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and enhance MCP tools for both proprietary and open-source environments
• Expand test coverage for tools used by AI coding assistants such as Gemini CLI and Claude Code
• Refactor, maintain, and improve existing test frameworks and codebases
• Convert technical blogs into production-ready sample code and documentation
• Develop real-world data applications (e.g., using QueryData) to support product R&D and experimentation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to accelerate adoption of agentic AI capabilities

Must-Have Requirements

• 4–8+ years of software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in Python or Go (ideally both)
• Solid SQL skills (intermediate level minimum)
• Prior experience in Google3 / Google engineering environments
• Experience building or contributing to agentic AI systems
• Hands-on experience with AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Gemini CLI)
• Strong coding, testing, and debugging abilities
• Good technical writing and documentation skills

Nice-to-Have

• Experience contributing to open-source projects on GitHub
• Advanced SQL expertise
