Software Engineer: Rust, JS/TS, Python at Mercor

Software Engineer | $70–90/hr | Remote: US/UK/CA/NZ

Join Mercor in supporting a leading AI research lab by building robust, high-performance systems for next-generation machine learning applications. This contractor role is ideal for engineers with hands-on experience using coding agents and fluency in Rust, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python.

• Perform realistic coding tasks on real-world codebases using advanced coding agents (e.g., Codex, Claude Code).
• Contribute to open source projects and maintain public personal projects on GitHub.
• Work remotely and asynchronously, with flexible hours (10–20 per week, potential for 40).
• Minimum engagement of 2 weeks, with possible extension.
• Applicants must hold a Computer Science degree from a top university in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, or New Zealand and currently reside in one of these countries.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong communication skills required.
