Mercor is hiring skilled Software Engineers to develop tools and workflows that generate sophisticated training and evaluation datasets for advanced large language models. You'll collaborate closely with our Operations and Applied AI Engineering teams to streamline AI model development and deployment.
Develop robust data pipelines for training cutting-edge AI models.
Enhance and refine datasets created by human experts, converting them into actionable evaluation signals.
Conduct analyses to identify and address AI model failure points within real-world professional workflows.
Previous startup or entrepreneurial experience.
Proficiency in Python.
Hands-on experience deploying large language models or similar AI models in production environments, including evaluation pipelines.
Exceptional attention to detail and eagerness for continuous learning.
Fully remote, flexible, project-based work.
Initial project duration: approximately 4 weeks, with potential for extension.
Workload: 10–40 hours per week based on project needs and your availability.
Hourly contractor classification.
Competitive hourly compensation ($50–$90 USD/hour), commensurate with experience.
