SolidWorks Specialist | $40–100/hr | Worldwide Remote

We are seeking a skilled SolidWorks Specialist to support mechanical design and CAD modeling projects on a contract basis. This role is ideal for an experienced designer with deep expertise in parametric modeling, manufacturing processes, and design documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, edit, and manage complex SolidWorks models and assemblies with clean feature tree organization
• Apply GD&T standards and tolerance specifications to engineering drawings and models
• Conduct Design for Manufacturability (DFM) analysis across processes including injection molding, sheet metal, CNC machining, casting, and forging
• Perform reverse engineering and scan-to-CAD workflows to recreate or update existing parts
• Develop and maintain thorough design documentation and project records
• Automate and customize SolidWorks workflows using iLogic, VBA, or Python scripting
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, communicating design intent clearly in both written and verbal formats

Required Skills

• Proficiency in SolidWorks with strong parametric CAD modeling capabilities
• Solid understanding of GD&T, DFM principles, and mechanical design best practices
• Experience with manufacturing processes: injection molding, sheet metal, CNC machining, casting, and forging
• Familiarity with assembly modeling and CAD editing techniques
• Experience in reverse engineering and scan-to-CAD conversion
• Scripting knowledge in Python, iLogic, or VBA is a strong plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to project documentation

This is a fully remote contract opportunity open to qualified candidates worldwide. Compensation ranges from $40 to $100 per hour based on experience and project scope.
