Special Effects (VFX) Specialist | $40–60/hr | Remote Worldwide

Mercor is seeking experienced visual effects specialists to develop high-quality VFX assets for multimedia datasets supporting advanced AI evaluation and demonstrations. This project-based role requires creating polished, realistic, or stylized effects that align with precise project specifications in a fully remote, asynchronous environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create, render, and refine visual effects assets based on structured project briefs
• Annotate, caption, and evaluate different images and content shared
• Integrate VFX into video or still content with accurate compositing, motion tracking, and color matching
• Ensure all produced work meets technical performance standards and visual cohesion guidelines
• Follow structured asset documentation processes to maintain consistent dataset quality
• Collaborate asynchronously with project leads and complete all deliverables on schedule

You're a Strong Fit If You Have:

• 5+ years of experience in VFX creation using tools such as After Effects, Blender, Maya, or Cinema 4D
• Proven ability to translate creative briefs into polished, technically accurate effects
• Strong skills in rendering, compositing, simulation, and effects integration
• Excellent attention to visual detail, realism, and consistency
• Ability to work independently in a remote, asynchronous environment

Role Details:

• Type: Part-time, project-based (3–5 weeks)
• Engagement: 10–15 hours per week
• Work Mode: 100% remote and asynchronous
• Compensation: Contractor role via Mercor with weekly payments processed through Stripe Connect
