Domain Expert – Statistician / Data Analyst | Hourly Contract | 5 Weeks | Worldwide Remote

Turing is seeking an experienced Statistician or Data Analyst with hands-on expertise in jamovi or JASP to help benchmark AI models on real-world statistical tasks. This is a short-term, fully remote engagement with potential for extension.

About Turing

Turing is one of the world's fastest-growing AI companies, partnering with leading AI labs to advance frontier model capabilities and building real-world AI systems for mission-critical enterprise needs.

Role Overview

You will design realistic statistical analysis environments, create research datasets, execute reference analyses, and validate AI-generated statistical outputs. Your work will directly contribute to improving how AI models reason through hypothesis testing, regression, ANOVA, and research reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Map and document statistical workflows including descriptive analysis, hypothesis testing, regression, ANOVA/ANCOVA, non-parametric testing, reliability analysis, and visualization.
  • Create realistic research assets such as unclean survey datasets, clinical trial tables, psychological assessment data, and study-design briefs.
  • Perform end-to-end statistical analyses in jamovi or JASP and record reference execution traces.
  • Define numerical verification criteria for p-values, test statistics, effect sizes, regression coefficients, and APA-style summary tables.
  • Review statistical tasks for accuracy, solvability, methodological appropriateness, and completeness.
  • Provide clear technical explanations for statistical model choices, data transformations, assumption tests, and post-hoc analyses.

Required Qualifications

  • Professional experience in statistics, biostatistics, quantitative research, psychometrics, or data analytics.
  • Mandatory: Hands-on experience with jamovi or JASP (or strong experience with JMP or SPSS).
  • Strong knowledge of descriptive and inferential statistics.
  • Experience with t-tests, ANOVA, ANCOVA, MANOVA, linear and logistic regression, Mann-Whitney, and Kruskal-Wallis tests.
  • Understanding of assumption testing (Shapiro-Wilk, Levene's test), model diagnostics, effect sizes, and post-hoc testing.
  • Ability to validate statistical results with mathematical and numerical precision.
  • Familiarity with APA-style statistical reporting and publication-quality tables and plots.
  • Clear written English for producing unambiguous statistical research briefs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using R syntax mode in jamovi or JASP, or familiarity with the jmv package.
  • Experience validating results across jamovi, JASP, JMP, and SPSS.
  • Knowledge of statistical data cleaning and transformation workflows.
  • Background working with research, clinical, psychological, or survey datasets.

Engagement Details

  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Duration: 5 weeks (extension possible)
  • Location: Fully Remote
  • Start Date: As soon as possible
