STEM AI Agent Research Specialist | $80–100/hr | Worldwide Remote

Join MICRO1 as a STEM AI Agent Research Specialist, contributing to cutting-edge AI and machine learning research. In this generalist role, you will evaluate and validate AI agent outputs, conduct technical research, and support the development of next-generation agentic AI systems across scientific domains.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute technical research tasks involving STEM disciplines and agentic AI systems
• Evaluate AI-generated outputs for accuracy, scientific reasoning, and logical consistency
• Debug code and validate results produced by AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, and OpenCode
• Analyze session traces to assess AI agent behavior and performance
• Apply domain expertise to life sciences use cases using tools like Claude for Life Sciences and Claude Cowork
• Produce clear, well-structured technical documentation and research reports
• Contribute to AI evaluation frameworks and research methodology development

Required Skills

• Strong background in STEM research and scientific reasoning
• Experience with agentic AI tools and platforms (Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, etc.)
• Proficiency in data analysis, code debugging, and output validation
• Familiarity with AI evaluation methodologies and research methods
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills
• Ability to interpret and analyze session traces from AI systems

This is a contractor engagement offering competitive hourly compensation of $80–100/hr, with fully remote flexibility for candidates worldwide.
