STEM Biology Reviewer | Contractor | Worldwide Remote

Join Turing — the world's leading AI research accelerator — and help shape the future of large language models by contributing expert-level Biology knowledge to cutting-edge AI training projects. This is a fully remote contractor role ideal for advanced Biology researchers looking to future-proof their careers in an AI-first world.

About Turing

Based in San Francisco, Turing partners with frontier AI labs and global enterprises to accelerate AI research and deployment. Their work spans coding, reasoning, STEM, multilinguality, multimodality, and AI agents — delivering high-quality training data and pipelines that power the next generation of AI systems.

Role Overview

As a STEM Biology Reviewer, you will design challenging Biology problems, develop rigorous solutions, and help fine-tune large language models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT. Your expertise will directly improve how AI systems reason through complex biological concepts — from undergraduate fundamentals to PhD-level topics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and solve advanced Biology problems that probe the limitations of LLMs.
  • Develop high-quality, step-by-step solutions with clear, rigorous reasoning.
  • Collaborate with LLM researchers to align problem types with evaluation goals, particularly in conceptual abstraction, multi-step reasoning, and data interpretation.
  • Contribute to defining new evaluation benchmarks spanning early undergraduate to PhD-level Biology curricula.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's or Ph.D. (or currently pursuing a Ph.D./Postdoctoral degree) in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to break down complex concepts clearly.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and detailed annotations.
  • Creative and lateral thinking abilities.
  • Excellent structured communication and collaboration skills in a remote environment.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
  • Reliable desktop/laptop with a stable internet connection.

Engagement Details

  • Type: Contractor
  • Commitment: Minimum 4 hours/day, up to 40 hours/week, with at least 4 hours of overlap with PST.

Evaluation Process

  • Shortlisted candidates will receive a Job Interest Form.
  • Following profile review, an assessment will be shared and must be completed within 24 hours.
  • Candidates who pass the assessment will be invited to schedule an interview.
