STEM Subject Matter Expert | $50–60/hr | Worldwide Remote

Mercor is seeking a skilled STEM Expert to design and refine high-quality reasoning questions in biology, physics, and chemistry. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about scientific rigor and instructional quality, offering the flexibility of remote, asynchronous work.

• Design and Optimize STEM Prompts: Develop detailed, scientifically accurate prompts with clear instructions and constraints.
• Establish Evaluation Standards: Define expectations for correct responses and create comprehensive rubrics for assessment.
• Model Testing and Grading: Test AI model outputs and evaluate them against established standards.
• Quality Assurance: Collaborate in QA processes to ensure consistency and scientific rigor across all materials.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Physics, or Chemistry
• Strong knowledge of undergraduate-level STEM topics
• Excellent writing and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Preferred: 2+ years of experience in teaching, research, or applied STEM fields.

Role Details: This is a remote, project-based position requiring at least 20 hours per week for approximately one month. You’ll join a structured team environment with clear goals and tools, contributing to the advancement of AI evaluation standards.
