AfterQuery is looking for a driven, high-agency individual to join our founding team as a Strategic Projects Associate. This is a unique opportunity to work directly with leadership on high-priority initiatives spanning product development, research, and operations at a cutting-edge AI research lab.

AfterQuery investigates the boundaries and capabilities of artificial intelligence through novel datasets and experimentation. Our clients include the world's leading frontier AI labs, and we are backed by top-tier investors including Y Combinator, BoxGroup, ex-partners from Lightspeed and Index Ventures, and senior leaders from Google DeepMind and Meta GenAI.

Our founding team brings experience from institutions such as Jane Street, Meta, Citadel Securities, Google, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Silver Lake, Berkeley AI Research (BAIR), and Stanford AI Lab (SAIL).

What You'll Do

• Collaborate directly with the founding team on cross-functional, high-impact projects
• Support product development, research initiatives, and operational workflows
• Rapidly learn, iterate, and contribute across a variety of domains
• Help drive strategic priorities in a fast-paced, high-performance environment

What We're Looking For

• Proficiency or strong interest in AI tools, technologies, and Microsoft Office
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to work 6 days a week with an extremely high level of personal agency
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a dynamic, evolving environment

This role is based remotely within the US. AfterQuery is headquartered in San Francisco, CA.
