Systems Engineer III – Server Automation | $70–100/hr | Fremont, CA (On-Site)

Join a high-impact infrastructure team as a Systems Engineer III focused on server automation and fleet management. In this role, you'll design, develop, and maintain back-end services and automation tooling that power the full lifecycle of large-scale server fleets — from network boot and firmware updates to OS provisioning and decommissioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop back-end services, workflows, and automation for fleet management and full server lifecycle operations (network boot, firmware updates, OS provisioning, failure detection, erase, and decommission).
  • Build and maintain out-of-band server management tooling across a multi-vendor environment, including state management and telemetry collection.
  • Write, review, and test code; automate testing pipelines and validate changes directly on hardware.
  • Troubleshoot provisioning, firmware update, and network boot issues end-to-end from both network and server perspectives.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with:
    • TCP/IP network fundamentals
    • Linux systems and server management
    • Server network boot troubleshooting (network and server perspectives)
    • Coding and scripting automation using Python, Go, Rust, Bash, or Ruby
    • Automating management of large server hardware fleets via Redfish and/or IPMI
    • Server/systems architecture troubleshooting and analytics
    • Kubernetes, Docker, and/or cloud deployment technologies
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (relevant experience may substitute).
  • Linux/TCP/IP certification preferred.
