AFTERQUERY is seeking experienced Tax Attorneys to help build tax law reasoning scenarios used by frontier AI labs to evaluate and test model judgment. This is a flexible, fully remote contractor role with weekly pay — ideal for tax professionals looking to contribute to cutting-edge AI development alongside their existing practice.

What You'll Do

• Develop and document complex tax law reasoning scenarios and edge cases
• Provide expert-level analysis across areas such as corporate, partnership, international, or tax controversy
• Write clear, structured explanations of tax reasoning to guide AI model evaluation
• Work asynchronously on your own schedule, committing a minimum of 10 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• JD with an active bar admission in at least one US jurisdiction
• 2+ years of tax practice experience at a law firm, in-house, or in a government role
• Demonstrated depth in a specific tax area (corporate, partnership, international, or controversy)
• Strong written English skills for clearly documenting tax reasoning and analysis
• Ability to commit a minimum of 10 hours per week on a consistent basis

• Rate: $120–$200/hr (based on experience)
