Turing is seeking experienced Technical & Scientific Sales Experts to help build and evaluate high-quality training data for frontier AI models. This is a short-term contractor role ideal for professionals with a strong background in technical sales, sales engineering, or scientific solutions who want to contribute to cutting-edge AI development.

Role Overview
As a Technical/Scientific Sales Expert, you will generate, evaluate, and refine tasks that test AI model capabilities in areas such as technical discovery, solution-fit assessment, product positioning, and complex technical communication. You'll be part of a specialized functional pod producing expert-level training and evaluation data.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce expert-level tasks and gold-standard solutions in technical and scientific sales.
- Author realistic task scenarios covering technical discovery, customer requirements mapping, solution-fit evaluations, RFP responses, and technical objection handling.
- Apply rubric standards and grading frameworks established by the Functional SME Lead.
- Incorporate calibration feedback and iterate on task designs under senior review.
- Verify that all tasks, technical specs, and scenarios are accurate, realistic, and solvable using provided documentation.
- Maintain consistent alignment with project guidelines, quality benchmarks, and milestone deadlines.
Requirements
- Experience: 3–8 years in technical sales, sales engineering, scientific sales, or solutions architecture.
- Technical Background: Educational or professional background in a STEM field (e.g., engineering, biotechnology, chemistry, software, or clinical sciences).
- Core Skills: Proven experience with technical discovery calls, customer requirements evaluation, solution architecture mapping, objection handling, and value proposition development.
- Deliverables: Track record of producing discovery briefs, technical proposals, solution architectures, product comparison matrices, and demo plans.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret complex technical specifications and assess solution feasibility.
- Communication: Excellent written skills for crafting buyer-seller scenarios, technical prompts, and structured rubrics.
- Independence: Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and iterate based on feedback.
Education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in any field.
- Experience in AI evaluation, data annotation, content review, or quality assurance is a plus but not required.
Engagement Details
- Type: Contractor
- Duration: 9 weeks
- Commitment: Minimum 4 hours/day, up to 40 hours/week, with at least 4 hours of overlap with PST.
