About the role

Mercor is hiring Vietnamese Linguistic Experts for a part-time, remote AI research project run in partnership with a leading research lab. You will evaluate how well a large language model (LLM) performs on Vietnamese-language tasks and curate high-quality Vietnamese linguistic data to train and improve the model's understanding and generation capabilities.

What the work involves

• Evaluate the quality and accuracy of LLM-generated Vietnamese text across use cases such as translation, summarization, dialogue, and grammar correction.
• Edit, refine, or rewrite Vietnamese content to meet linguistic and cultural standards.
• Annotate Vietnamese text for grammatical, syntactic, and semantic features.
• Identify model errors and language gaps, and collaborate with AI researchers to improve LLM performance.
• Provide detailed linguistic feedback and analysis to guide ongoing model training.

Who this job is for

• Native or near-native fluency in Vietnamese, with strong command of grammar, syntax, and stylistics.
• Professional experience in translation, editing, linguistic annotation, or NLP data work in Vietnamese.
• Understanding of linguistic nuances, regional variations, and context-appropriate usage.
• Excellent attention to detail, including the ability to spot subtle errors or unnatural phrasing.
• Clear communication skills and experience working in distributed, remote teams.
• Interest in AI and LLM-driven language technologies is preferred but not required.

Pay, schedule and location

• Pay: $30/hr.
