Visual Design Expert (Excel) | $70–$115/hr | Worldwide Remote

Mercor is seeking experienced Visual Design Experts to create polished, professional-grade Excel templates for business environments. This is a freelance opportunity focused purely on visual and aesthetic spreadsheet design — not UX, product design, or content writing.

About the Role

Selected experts will design a variety of high-quality, sellable spreadsheet templates intended for real-world business and productivity use. Projects include planners, dashboards, trackers, budgets, invoices, and project management sheets — all crafted to look visually refined and professional.

Responsibilities

• Design visually polished Excel templates for business users
• Create spreadsheets for use cases such as budgeting, calendars, tracking systems, and project management
• Ensure templates are professional, aesthetically strong, and ready for real-world business application

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of full-time professional experience in visual or graphic design
• College degree or higher
• Demonstrated expertise in visual and aesthetic design (not UX or product-focused)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel in professional settings
• Ability to commit a minimum of 15 hours per week
• Access to a desktop or laptop computer (Chromebooks not supported)

Preferred Qualifications

• Core design background with a strong portfolio of spreadsheet or template design work
• Ability to clearly demonstrate exceptional visual spreadsheet design capability

Candidates with a primary UX or product design background are welcome to apply but must showcase strong visual spreadsheet design skills to be considered.
