Voice Actor – American English | $50–60/hr | Remote (USA)

Mercor is partnering with a leading AI research lab to recruit talented, native American English voice actors for a cutting-edge text-to-speech (TTS) project. This is a part-time, remote contract role ideal for experienced voice professionals who can deliver expressive, natural, and consistent recordings to help train next-generation AI speech models.

Key Responsibilities

• Record high-quality voice samples across diverse script types — conversational, narrative, instructional, and more
• Deliver clear, expressive speech with strong control over tone, pacing, and pronunciation
• Maintain consistency in voice, accent, and delivery across multiple recording sessions
• Follow detailed recording guidelines covering environment setup, microphone configuration, and file formatting
• Perform multiple takes with variations in emotion, emphasis, and style as directed
• Self-review and QA recordings to ensure minimal background noise, clipping, or audio artifacts
• Collaborate with project teams to refine delivery based on model training requirements

Requirements

• Native American English speaker currently based in the United States
• Proven experience in voice acting, dubbing, narration, podcasting, or broadcasting
• Access to a professional or near-professional recording setup (quality microphone, quiet space, pop filter, etc.)
• Strong command of intonation, diction, and emotional range
• Ability to follow scripts precisely while maintaining a natural, authentic delivery
• Reliable availability for 10–20 hours per week throughout the project duration

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience recording for TTS systems, audiobooks, IVR platforms, or AI voice datasets
• Familiarity with audio editing tools such as Audacity, Adobe Audition, or Reaper
• Ability to deliver multiple vocal styles — conversational, corporate, energetic, calm, and more
