Voice Actor: CX Agent Voice Cloning at Mercor

Voice Actor (Northern UK Accent) | $50–150/hr | Remote (UK-Based)

Mercor is partnering with a leading AI research lab to develop next-generation text-to-speech (TTS) systems. We are seeking a UK-based female voice actor with an authentic Northern English accent (e.g. Yorkshire, Manchester, Newcastle, or Liverpool) to record high-quality voice samples for training and evaluating advanced speech models.

Important: Your voice recordings will be used exclusively for the client's internal CX AI Agent. They will not be sold, licensed, or reused for any other product, dataset, or purpose. Please only apply if you are comfortable with voice cloning for this specific use case.

Key Responsibilities

• Record high-quality voice samples across diverse script types — conversational, narrative, and instructional
• Deliver clear, natural, and expressive speech with strong control over tone, pacing, and pronunciation
• Maintain consistency in voice, accent, and delivery across multiple recording sessions
• Follow detailed recording guidelines covering environment setup, microphone configuration, and file formatting
• Perform multiple takes with variation in emotion, emphasis, and style as required

Requirements

• Female voice actor with a natural, authentic Northern English accent, currently based in the UK
• Proven experience in voice acting, dubbing, narration, podcasting, or broadcasting
• Access to a professional or near-professional recording setup (quality microphone, quiet environment, pop filter, etc.)
• Strong command of intonation, diction, and emotional range
• Ability to follow scripts precisely while maintaining natural, engaging delivery
• Reliable availability for 5–10 hours per week throughout the project duration

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience recording for TTS systems, audiobooks, IVR platforms, or AI voice datasets
• Familiarity with audio editing tools such as Audacity, Adobe Audition, or Reaper
• Ability to deliver multiple vocal styles including conversational, corporate, energetic, and calm
