Voice Actor: CX Agent Voice Cloning at Mercor

Voice Actor (African American) | $50/hr | Remote – USA Only

Mercor is partnering with a leading AI research lab to source talented, USA-based African American voice actors for a professional voice cloning project. Your recordings will be used exclusively to power a client's internal Customer Experience (CX) AI Agent — they will not be sold, licensed, or repurposed for any other product or dataset.

Key Responsibilities

• Record high-quality voice samples across diverse script types (conversational, narrative, instructional, and more)
• Deliver clear, natural, and expressive speech with strong control over tone, pacing, and pronunciation
• Maintain consistency in voice, accent, and delivery across all recording sessions
• Follow detailed recording guidelines covering environment setup, microphone configuration, and file formatting
• Perform multiple takes with variation in emotion, emphasis, and style as required

Requirements

• USA-based voice actor with a natural African American English delivery
• Proven experience in voice acting, dubbing, narration, podcasting, or broadcasting
• Access to a professional or near-professional recording setup (quality microphone, quiet space, pop filter, etc.)
• Strong command of intonation, diction, and emotional range
• Ability to follow scripts precisely while maintaining a natural, engaging delivery
• Reliable availability throughout the project duration
• Important: Your voice may be cloned for the client's CX AI Agent. Please only apply if you are comfortable with voice cloning for this specific, limited use case.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience recording for TTS systems, audiobooks, IVR platforms, or AI voice datasets
• Familiarity with audio editing tools such as Audacity, Adobe Audition, or Reaper
• Ability to deliver multiple vocal styles including conversational, corporate, energetic, and calm
