About the role
This is an expert-level contract role for a SolidWorks specialist, fully remote. The work spans mechanical design and CAD across a range of manufacturing processes.
What the work involves
- Parametric CAD modeling, assembly modeling and CAD editing in SolidWorks, with disciplined feature tree management.
- Mechanical design for manufacturing, covering injection molding, sheet metal, CNC machining, casting and forging.
- Applying GD&T and tolerance application to designs, along with manufacturability (DFM) analysis.
- Producing design documentation and project documentation.
- Reverse engineering and scan-to-CAD work.
- CAD automation using Python, iLogic and VBA.
Who it's for
- Expert-level SolidWorks and parametric CAD modeling skills.
- Experience in mechanical design for injection molding, sheet metal, CNC machining, casting and forging.
- Working knowledge of GD&T, tolerance application and manufacturability analysis.
- Comfortable with assembly modeling, CAD editing and feature tree management.
- Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to produce clear project and design documentation.
Pay and commitment
$65-123/hr on a contractor basis.
Location
Fully remote.
