About the role
An expert-level contract role covering visual grading of softwood lumber and sawmill quality supervision.
What the work involves
- Visual grading of softwood lumber to published rules, including NLGA, WWPA, SPIB and WCLIB
- Identifying lumber defects and applying grade limits for knots, wane, checks, shake and warp
- Grade stamping
- Grade recovery and quality control (QC)
Who it's for
This is an expert-level position. You need working command of the published grading rules listed above and the ability to identify defects and apply grade limits accurately.
Pay and commitment
