Overview:
Mercor is seeking an Advanced Physics Expert to develop and refine high-quality, undergraduate-level physics reasoning questions designed to evaluate and enhance AI models. Your deep understanding of physics principles and strong problem-solving skills will be crucial in creating accurate, challenging, and engaging test materials.
Responsibilities:
Question Development: Create well-structured physics questions focused on reasoning, conceptual understanding, and problem-solving.
Solution Validation: Ensure all solutions are accurate, complete, and emphasize logical reasoning rather than mere computation.
Difficulty Scaling: Categorize and refine questions into appropriate difficulty levels (Easy, Medium, Hard) to balance rigor and accessibility.
Real-World Relevance: Craft scenarios that reflect practical, real-world applications of physics, avoiding overly abstract or trivial content.
Quality Assurance: Maintain high-quality standards by verifying alignment with physics principles, avoiding ambiguity, factual inaccuracies, or unrealistic assumptions.
Qualifications:
Master's degree or PhD in Physics or a closely related discipline.
At least 2 years of relevant experience in teaching, research, or applied physics.
Proficiency in undergraduate-level physics topics, including Mechanics, Electromagnetism, Thermodynamics, and Quantum Mechanics.
Excellent writing, communication, and critical-thinking abilities.
Strong organizational skills, ability to work independently, and commitment to meeting deadlines.
