Corporate Development Expert | $1,000/hr | Worldwide Remote | Task-Based Contract

Mercor is building a high-quality library of in-house corporate development work products. As a Corporate Development Expert, you'll complete self-contained M&A exercises drawn from mock files — including CIMs, diligence reports, term sheets, and board decks — and produce polished deliverables graded against a professional rubric. This is an ideal opportunity for seasoned in-house M&A operators looking for flexible, high-value project work.

What You'll Do

• Build valuation and merger models: three-statement, DCF, trading and transaction comps, accretion-dilution, cap table, and equity waterfall analyses.
• Draft and compare transaction terms: IOIs, LOIs, term sheets, bid comparisons, deal structure, and consideration economics.
• Produce process and board materials: management presentations, data packs, buyer universes, board and committee decks, closing mechanics, and funds flow documentation.
• Run screening, diligence, and integration work: inbound deal screens, diligence request lists, findings synthesis, synergy models, carve-out analysis, and 100-day integration plans.

You're a Great Fit If You Have

• 4+ years of experience in an in-house corporate development or M&A role at an operating company.
• Hands-on, end-to-end ownership of live transactions — not support or advisory work.

Nice to Have

• Prior investment banking or private equity experience before transitioning in-house.
• Big 4 transaction advisory or financial due diligence background.

Assessment

Candidates will complete a practical assessment consisting of: a merger model built from a mock target file, a term sheet comparison exercise, and a board-ready recommendation memo.
