Mercor is building a panel of radiological safety experts to red-team frontier AI models — evaluating whether these systems can correctly distinguish legitimate professional inquiries from genuinely dangerous requests. This is nuanced, writing-intensive work that requires real-world practitioner experience, not just academic familiarity.

What You'll Do

• Craft challenging single-turn prompts across three classification levels: benign, dual-use, and adversarial
• Evaluate AI-generated responses against a defined policy standard, judging whether each was handled appropriately
• Write reference answers — including the correct response and a clear technical rationale — that a non-specialist can follow

Ideal Background

We're looking for professionals who have held real responsibility in radiological emergency planning or response — not just tabletop interest. Relevant experience includes:

• Radiological emergency planning at a licensed facility or at state/national level (plans, drills, exercises)
• Field response and monitoring — FRMAC, RAP, CBRN, or national radiological response teams
• Consequence and dispersal modelling — plume/deposition estimates, dose projection, protective action decisions
• Incident command or response coordination for radiological events or full-scale exercises
• Medical and public-health radiological response — triage, countermeasures, population monitoring

Beyond Technical Expertise

This role is writing-intensive. Every judgment requires a clear written rationale. Prior technical writing, published research, or expert witness experience is a strong signal — please include a sample or link in your application.
