About the Role:
Mercor is seeking a Math Reasoning Prompt Expert with a strong background in causal inference and experimental design. In this role, you will create and refine high-quality reasoning questions to evaluate and improve AI models, ensuring each item meets the highest standards of rigor and instructional quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop well-structured, undergraduate-level math questions that test reasoning, problem-solving, and conceptual understanding.
Solve and verify solutions for accuracy and completeness, prioritizing logical reasoning over rote computation.
Categorize and refine questions by difficulty (Easy, Medium, Hard) to balance complexity and engagement.
Design questions reflecting real-world mathematical applications and avoid trivial or overly theoretical prompts.
Ensure all questions align with sound mathematical principles, avoiding ambiguity, errors, or unrealistic assumptions.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree or PhD in Mathematics with specialization in causal inference and experimental design.
Strong writing and critical thinking skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
