We're seeking a senior-level mechanical engineer to craft the hardest reasoning questions in the field — problems so rigorous that even frontier AI systems struggle to solve them.

What You'll Do

• Author original, free-response engineering problems grounded in real-world industry scenarios
• Write complete, expert-level solutions for each problem you create
• Validate question difficulty by testing against three frontier AI language models, ensuring at least one fails to produce a correct answer
• Contribute to a high-quality benchmark dataset that pushes the boundaries of AI reasoning in mechanical engineering

Requirements

• PhD in Mechanical Engineering (required)
• 8+ years of hands-on professional or industry experience in design, analysis, or R&D
• Strong background in applying engineering principles to complex, real-world problems
• Experience at well-known or blue-chip employers is preferred
• Excellent technical writing skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex solutions
