Private Equity Associate – Consumer at Mercor

Private Equity Associate – Consumer & Leisure | $100–120/hr | Remote (France/Europe)

Mercor is seeking an experienced Private Equity Associate with a consumer and leisure background to complete a focused, project-based financial modeling engagement. You will build a financial model from a synthetic deal document pack and peer-review models submitted by two other contractors on the same transaction. Estimated effort is 20–25 hours over 1.5–2 weeks.

What You'll Do

• Build a fully working financial model for an assigned consumer/leisure transaction using a provided synthetic deal document pack
• Deliver an editable Excel workbook complete with live formulas, source references, and clearly stated assumptions
• Peer-review two anonymized models from other contractors against a fixed set of evaluation criteria
• Provide a short written rationale for each review along with a completed review scorecard

Requirements

• 2–4 years of total experience: approximately 2 years in investment banking (Consumer/Retail or generalist M&A, ideally in Paris, London, or elsewhere in Europe), followed by 1–2 years in mid-market or large-cap private equity
• Currently or recently an Associate at a mid-market or large-cap PE fund with a consumer, leisure, or multi-site services focus (e.g., fitness clubs, franchise vs. owned models, multi-site roll-ups)
• Paris office experience or French deal exposure is strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to build financial models from source documents without a template
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
