About the Role
micro1 is hiring an expert-level applied engineering contractor to evaluate metallurgical samples, inspect welds and coatings, and disposition defects in additively manufactured parts. This is remote contract work.
What the Work Involves
- Metallographic microstructure evaluation
- Heat treatment acceptance testing to AMS 2750 and ASTM E112
- Weld macro etch inspection and CWI acceptance
- Coating inspection to NACE/AMPP and SSPC standards
- Defect disposition for additive manufacturing (LPBF) parts
Who It's For
This role calls for an expert in applied engineering with hands-on experience in the inspection and evaluation techniques listed above, including familiarity with the relevant AMS, ASTM, NACE/AMPP and SSPC standards.
Pay and Commitment
Contractor position paying $80-130/hr, depending on experience.
Location
Fully remote.
