Position Overview: Smart Contract Engineer

We are seeking a Smart Contract Engineer to join our Layer 1 Engineering team. Our technology stack is Ethereum-based, so a deep familiarity with and passion for this ecosystem is essential.

As part of our team, you will work on blockchain infrastructure optimized for financial use cases, including protocols for smart contract-based derivatives, synthetic assets, cryptocurrency stabilization, and solutions for scalability and privacy through cryptography (e.g., zkSNARKs, multiparty computation, private transactions/assets).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain decentralized financial smart contracts on Autonity, facilitating the creation of decentralized risk markets tied to real-world risk factors.
• Tackle a range of challenges including smart derivatives, decentralized exchange (DEX) trading and settlement protocols, algorithmic stabilization, data oracles, liquid staking, and more.
• Collaborate with quantitative researchers and protocol engineers to convert research models and prototypes into production-grade Solidity code.
• Work with Autonity core developers to enhance Layer 1 protocol contracts and integrate new functionality into the Autonity Go Client.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience
• 2+ years of experience in smart contract programming with Solidity
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
• Strong understanding of Eth1 protocols and proof of stake consensus
• In-depth knowledge of the DeFi landscape and major DeFi primitives
• Proficiency in Python programming and web3.py Ethereum development
• Experience with data oracles and peer-to-peer (P2P) data stores (e.g., IPFS)
• Experience collaborating with third-party smart contract auditors
• Contributions to open-source projects in the Web3 space

Bonus Points

• Experience in designing, researching, or implementing Web3 protocols
• Proficiency with Python scientific computing libraries (NumPy, Pandas, Jupyter)
