Software Developer Expert | $50–$100/hr | Worldwide Remote

AFTERQUERY is seeking skilled software engineers for a short-term, project-based engagement over the next 2–3 weeks. This is a fully remote, asynchronous role offering exceptional pay and meaningful exposure to real-world engineering challenges — a strong addition to any professional portfolio.

Work is assigned on a project-by-project basis, giving you the flexibility to accept projects that align with your expertise. Expect a commitment of 10–20 hours per week for the projects you take on.

What You'll Do

• Complete software development tasks across a variety of stacks and applications
• Debug and troubleshoot existing codebases
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback
• Implement features and fixes independently from scoping through delivery

Required Qualifications

• 1–3 years of professional software engineering experience in a full-time or equivalent role
• Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language and its ecosystem
• Demonstrated ability to independently scope, implement, and deliver software features or fixes
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design fundamentals
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience
