Strategic Finance Expert | $1,000/hr | Worldwide Remote | Task-Based Contract

Mercor is building a high-quality library of strategic finance work products and is seeking experienced finance professionals to complete self-contained, rubric-graded exercises using mock files — including market data, cost baselines, and pricing schedules.

What You'll Do

• Build business cases and investment appraisals incorporating NPV, IRR, and payback analysis for projects, products, or make-versus-buy decisions.
• Produce capital allocation determinations that rank investments against hurdle rates, including portfolio review.
• Develop scenario and sensitivity analyses of corporate plans across demand, pricing, and cost dimensions.
• Analyze pricing and discount economics to support price-setting and deal desk approvals, including margin impact assessments.
• Conduct market sizing, competitive landscape analysis, cohort and unit economics, and cost baseline and savings analysis for cost reduction programs.

You're a Great Fit If You Have

• 4+ years of experience in strategic finance, corporate strategy, or corporate planning within an operating company.
• Direct ownership of a capital or pricing decision presented to a leadership forum.

Nice to Have

• Background in management consulting or Big 4 strategy, now in an operator role.
• Growth equity experience now applied in-house.
• Deal desk or pricing strategy expertise.

Assessment

Candidates will complete a practical assessment including: a business case with NPV and IRR from mock project files, a pricing and margin recommendation, and a capital allocation ranking.

Note: This role aligns with titles such as Corporate Planning or Business Analysis at some organizations. Fund-side strategy roles are out of scope.
