Team Lead – Legal, Risk & Compliance | Contract | Remote (PST)

Turing is seeking a seasoned legal professional to lead a team of Pod Leaders in developing, evaluating, and refining expert-level legal tasks for frontier AI research. This is a 6-week contract engagement with potential for extension, requiring deep legal expertise and strong leadership capabilities.

Role Responsibilities

• Manage and guide Pod Leaders to ensure consistent quality across legal task generation and evaluation.
• Review legal outputs for accuracy, sound reasoning, clarity, and practical applicability.
• Foster a collaborative team environment through active listening, empathy, and transparent communication.
• Support team development by leveraging individual strengths and providing appropriate autonomy.
• Lead with integrity, accountability, and a forward-looking, solutions-oriented approach.

Preferred Qualifications

• 12–15 years of legal practice, preferably at Senior Associate, Counsel, or equivalent level.
• Active bar admission or regional legal qualification equivalent.
• Strong expertise in contract drafting, legal analysis, and regulatory interpretation.
• Demonstrated experience in reviewing, mentoring, managing, or quality-assuring legal work.
• Excellent communication, leadership, judgment, and interpersonal skills.
