Accounting Specialist (ASC 606) | $190–210/hr | Remote (UK-Based)
Mercor is recruiting experienced UK-based Accounting Specialists with deep expertise in ASC 606 revenue recognition for a research project with a leading frontier AI lab. This is a flexible contractor engagement paying $190–$210/hr, with the opportunity to contribute up to 40 hours per week.
About the Role
You will help create, review, and evaluate high-quality accounting scenarios to support the development of frontier AI systems. This role draws on your expertise in revenue recognition, technical accounting, audit, and financial reporting to produce accurate and insightful training data.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate complex accounting scenarios involving customer contracts and revenue recognition
- Apply ASC 606 guidance to real-world business contexts, including performance obligations and transaction price allocation
- Review and assess revenue policies and contract terms
- Analyze principal vs. agent considerations and variable consideration issues
- Prepare and review technical accounting memos and financial reporting conclusions
Ideal Background
Strong candidates will have experience at firms such as Deloitte, PwC, EY, KPMG, BDO, Grant Thornton, Forvis Mazars, RSM, Crowe, Evelyn Partners, or another leading accounting, audit, or advisory firm.

Requirements
