Fuel VM is parallelized, state minimized and highly interoperable. It combines UTXO’s, Parallelization, Asset Oriented Design, Security, and Interoperability, to create one package which is optimized to solve for the world of Ethereum Rollups.
In short, all the existing limitations when building DeFi protocols are being solved by Fuel.
What We Do
In 2019, we began with the debut of Fuel V1, our first major step toward enhancing Ethereum’s scalability, and since then we've grown to offer a complete Rollup Operating System. We create innovative technologies like the Fuel Virtual Machine, and Sway—a programing language designed specifically for blockchains—that together form a robust environment for developers, with relentless focus on usability. These tools are part of our commitment to optimize and expand Ethereum's potential, for all its users.
Who We Are
The team comprises 75 professionals, including builders formerly from well-known Web3 organizations such as Consensys, Polygon, Polkadot and Ethereum. Our contributors works remotely, hailing from diverse locations globally, and we value curiosity, passion, and accountability in our collaborative efforts.
About This Role
To achieve this vision, we are looking for an individual with a unique combination of financial expertise and a passion for the rapidly evolving Web 3.0 space.
As our Director of Finance, reporting directly to the COO, you will be essential in designing our financial processes. From budgeting to negotiating with suppliers, you will ensure everything runs efficiently in a fully remote and globally distributed team. You will be a key member of the operations team, working closely to align financial strategies with operational goals.
This role goes beyond standard financial management; it involves working with all departments to understand their needs and their impact on our financial health. You will have the chance to create solid financial structures and contribute to scalable growth.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the C-suite to design and manage budgeting processes, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Serve as the primary partner for our external CFO, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of monthly financial statements and reports.
- Establish new programs, including expense and vendor management/negotiations, to optimize financial operations.
- Foster in-house familiarity with current accounting systems (Xero, Cryptio) and drive their effective utilization.
- Lead the creation and management of internal budgeting processes to support operational efficiency and financial transparency.
- Provide support to the Ecosystem team in evaluating and managing portfolios to maximize returns and mitigate risks.
Qualifications:
- 4-7 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), with a proven track record of managing financial models for teams.
- Experience in managing investment portfolios and treasury management is preferred.
- Familiarity with multisigs, ledgers, and asset management in a professional (crypto) setting.
- Proficiency in data analytics, modeling, and ROI analysis.
- History of building finance structures from scratch in a startup environment, demonstrating adaptability and innovation.
- Familiarity with trading, Web3 tools, and De-Fi is a plus
