Domain Expert – Diagnostic Imaging (Visage 7) | $90–$130/hr | Worldwide Remote

Mercor is seeking a highly experienced diagnostic imaging professional with active, hands-on Visage 7 expertise to serve as a domain expert in a research capacity. This role is ideal for radiologists, imaging technologists, or PACS/imaging informatics specialists who use Visage 7 weekly as a core part of their work and can speak with authority on clinical workflows, study interpretation, and imaging record integrity.

What You'll Do

  • Confirm that patient imaging records accurately reflect what was acquired and concluded — particularly on partial handoffs and incomplete studies
  • Establish the correct imaging position as of a relevant study date, compare against the appropriate prior, and document findings with follow-up recommendations where indicated
  • Distinguish between session-only actions and those that persist to the record and affect downstream readers
  • Assess study completeness: verify the correct prior is available, identify open items, and confirm the record is ready for the next reader or for conference
  • Ensure recorded outcomes are traceable, reproducible, and auditable

Required Visage 7 Knowledge

Study Interpretation & Measurement

  • Establishing a patient's imaging position as of a given study date and comparing it against the relevant prior
  • Distinguishing saved/persisted annotations from session-only entries
  • Reading multi-series, multi-timepoint studies and determining appropriate next steps
  • Quantitative work: RECIST/PERCIST tracking, SUV values, vessel/volume measurement, fusion and registration accuracy

Patient & Study Records

  • Patient/study/series/instance hierarchy and associated identifiers (MRN, accession number, Study Instance UID, procedure code)
  • Accurately recording interpretation and communication history, including on partial or preliminary studies
  • Setting and interpreting follow-up recommendations, flags, and recall dates

Worklist & Reading Workflow

  • Worklist construction, filters, and study status transitions (scheduled → final → addended)
  • Claiming and releasing studies; understanding the commitment of preliminary vs. signed final reports
  • Managing mid-read pickups and shift handoffs with clarity on what is confirmed vs. assumed
  • Prior fetching and relevance rules — diagnosing absent priors and resolving them

Reference & Configuration Data

  • Hanging protocols, display protocols, and window/level presets
  • Procedure code and protocol mapping; how upstream acquisition labeling affects downstream display
  • DICOM tag-level familiarity sufficient to diagnose mis-hung, mis-labeled, or mis-routed studies
  • Cross-system references: RIS/EHR orders, dictation systems, AI result overlays

Regulatory & Clinical Standards

  • Applying organizational protocol, dose, and reporting standards to assess study completeness
  • Version and currency awareness — applying the correct protocol as of the study date
  • Where applicable: MQSA, ACR accreditation, critical-findings communication policy, information-blocking and patient-release rules

Audit & Handoff

  • Recording findings, measurements, key images, and open items for downstream readers, clinicians, or tumor boards
  • Ensuring persistence of annotations, presentation states, and key-image selections
  • Peer review, discrepancy, and amendment workflows; audit trail and access logging

Requirements

  • Active Visage 7 use — weekly or more — in a current or recent professional role
  • 2+ years of experience in diagnostic radiology, imaging technology, imaging operations, or PACS/imaging informatics
  • Reflexive familiarity with study status transitions, prior comparison, and the preliminary-vs-final distinction
  • One of the following credentials:
    • MD/DO with radiology residency or fellowship training (board certification or eligibility preferred)
    • ARRT, RDMS, NMTCB, or equivalent technologist credential with advanced-visualization experience
    • Bachelor's degree in health informatics, medical imaging, computer science, or related field, plus CIIP, PARCA, or equivalent PACS administration experience

How to apply for this role
  • Upload your resume — keep it up-to-date and in English. Mercor will auto-fill your profile from it.
  • Complete the AI interview — a 15-minute conversation about your experience. Be ready to discuss specific projects and challenges you've solved.
  • Submit your application — only about 20% of applicants finish all the steps, so completing yours puts you well ahead.
