Music & Lyrics Expert (Arabic) | $17–$34/hr | Worldwide Remote

Mercor, in partnership with a leading AI lab, is seeking experienced Arabic-speaking musicians and music professionals to evaluate generative music AI models. This flexible, remote contract role is ideal for songwriters, lyricists, composers, performers, or music journalists with deep knowledge of the Arabic music scene.

Key Responsibilities

• Compare AI-generated lyrics with published songs to identify similarities and assess originality
• Rate lyrics based on quality, creativity, prompt adherence, and overall originality
• Evaluate the naturalness of lyrics, including word choice, slang, and regional expressions in Arabic

Requirements

• Native or near-native proficiency in Arabic, with the ability to follow detailed written instructions in English
• Professional background as a songwriter, lyricist, performer, composer, or music journalist
• Demonstrated knowledge of the Arabic music scene and its genres
• Access to headphones or studio monitors suitable for critical listening

Nice to Have

• Formal training in music performance, theory, or composition
• Credited or published songwriting work
• Broad familiarity with contemporary Arabic genres, sub-genres, and artists

• Commitment: Flexible — most experts work approximately 20 hours per week with no set cap
